But what about the battery resistance.

Because often download the application or activate the wireless network, it could be broken because the energy capacity of batteries drained.

There are a few Android tips you can do to make your android phone battery life can be more durable:

Manage wireless networks or wireless wisely. We recommend that you do not activate the entire connectivity available on mobile phones simultaneously, for example by turning on Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth.

Reduce screen brightness level. Mobile phone screen is bright indeed make a clearer. But beyond that, the higher the level of screen brightness, the greater the power output your cell phone battery.

Use one feature alone to tell if there are new messages. If there is email, instant messages, short messages (SMS), or call into the Android phone, it does not need the phone rang too loudly and vibrate. Just use one of the two earlier features, sound or vibrate so that the battery is more efficient.

Enabling an important email only. If you have five email accounts and everything is active, you should choose which email is the most frequently used and will be activated throughout the day. The reason, more and more applications, such as email, live streaming, radio, or an active social media at the same time, the greater the battery power is needed.

Always keep a spare battery. When the battery charge, you are advised not to pull out if its capacity has not reached half. Because, if the battery has not reached 50 percent occupied and has been used again, the stored energy will be easily drained because it’s still small.

GSM and CDMA network technologies are the two main competing technologies set up by cellular service providers across the globe.

GSM is an abbreviation of Global System for Mobile Communications, while CDMA is an abbreviation of Code Division Multiple Access

The Technology:

Mobile communication systems have to make use of the microwave frequencies above 800 MHz for transmission and reception of the signals. Different service providers operate in pre allocated frequency bands given to them by the international standards. Below listed are the methods to access these microwave frequencies.

• FDMA (Frequency Division Multiple Access) – FDMA puts each call on a separate frequency.
• TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) – TDMA assigns each call a certain portion of time on a designated frequency.
• CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) – CDMA gives a unique code to each call and spreads it over available frequencies.
• GSM is a global standard based on TDMA.

How these technologies affect the common man:

In case of GSM:

• If you opt for GSM technology, you have the freedom to choose handset separately from the wide variety of big handset companies like Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, etc who retail their products in the market.
• You can then purchase a SIM card from any of the GSM service providers like Vodafone, Airtel, etc and insert it in to your handset and start talking.
• You even enjoy the freedom to switch the service provider and still continue with the same handset.
• GSM service providers are well networked globally. Therefore it offers much better international roaming. You must check for roaming call rates and coverage in the regions or countries where you visit frequently.
• Another major benefit that GSM users enjoy is that if you travel to other countries you can make use your same GSM cell phone there too( if it is a quad-band phone 850/900/1800/1900 MHz). To save yourself from roaming charges from your service provider, you can purchase a local SIM card with call value and a local number in the country you are visiting.

In case of CDMA:

• Here the handset is network locked. You have to buy a complete package from the service provider that includes both, the handset and the connection (prepaid / postpaid).
• Two main CDMA players in India are Reliance and TATA.
• Earlier it was difficult for Reliance users who wanted to retain the same number but wanted to change their reliance handsets, to do so. However now it is possible by making use of the handset change card that is available in a nominal amount.
• TATA however made it very user friendly. Due to its T – SIM enabled handsets; it is easier for TATA users to change their handsets.
• Reliance and TATA now have a range of entry level, mid-segment and features rich advance handsets available with them. However in this case the choice of handsets is limited to the models offered by the Service Provider.
• You cannot change the service provider and still keep the same handset.
• Voice clarity in CDMA network is supposed to be better as it uses same frequency across all cells.
• Here you need to check for International roaming tie ups if you travel abroad frequently. You do not enjoy the freedom like GSM mobiles.
• TATA is soon launching T-SIM to enable international roaming with one world one number concept.
Before choosing a CDMA or GSM Mobile phone from any mobile store, you need to understand the features and services provided by these mobile phones well.

Network Time Protocol (NTP) is probably the Internet’s oldest protocol. Developed at the University of Delaware, it has been in use and continually updated for the last 25 years. In short it is a protocol designed to synchronize the clocks on computers and networks across the Internet or Local or Wider Area Networks (LANs/WANS).

NTP is a multi-tiered system, each tier being called a stratum. Servers at each tier communicate with each other (peer) and provide time to lower strata. Servers at the top stratum, stratum 1 connect to an atomic clock either over the Internet or by a radio or GPS receiver while a stratum 2 server will connect to a stratum 1.

The way NTP works is relatively straight forward. NTP timestamps relay the seconds from a set point in time (known as the prime epoch, usually set at 00:00 1 January 1900 or sometimes 00:00 1 January 1970) The NTP algorithm then determines the amount to advance or retreat the clock.

The NTP program (known as a daemon on UNIX and a service on Windows) runs in the background and refuses to believe the time it is told until several exchanges have taken place, each passing a set of tests. If the replies from a server satisfy these ‘protocol specifications’, the server is accepted. It usually takes about five good samples (five minutes) until a NTP server is accepted as a source for synchronisation.

NTP can synchronise time over the Internet but it should be noted that Microsoft and others recommend that external time references are used rather than Internet based ones as these can’t be authenticated. External hardware sources use either a radio or GPS receiver to get a timing reference from an atomic clock.

NTP (currently up to version 4) can maintain time over the Internet to within 1/100th of a second (10 milliseconds () and can perform even better over Local Area Networks with accuracies of 1/5000th of a second (200 microseconds) fairly common.

A simplified version of NTP called Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) exists that does not require the storing of information about previous communications as required by NTP. It is used in some devices and applications where high accuracy timing is not as important and is installed on older versions of Microsoft Windows. Windows since 2000 has included the Windows Time Service (w32time.exe) which uses SNTP to synchronise the computer clock. NTP is also available on UNIX and LINUX (download via NTP.org).

By now, many people have heard about companies that will buy your used laptop for cash. These companies buy your laptop and refurbish them to sell as used. It’s essentially laptop-recycling, and can be a great option for people who may have an extra laptop that isn’t being used or a laptop that doesn’t work (as many companies will buy it from you whether it’s working or not).

Selling your used laptop is also a great way to get some extra cash if you are trying to save up for a newer laptop. Technology is always changing, and eventually you will want to upgrade to a newer, faster computer that is more compatible with ever-changing software. Why not get rid of your old laptop while at the same time making some cash to put towards a new one?

No matter what the reason, once you decide to sell your laptop, there are a few things that you should know. There are many companies that will buy your laptop and some are better than others to do business with. The following paragraphs will help guide you through some of the important things to know when starting the process of selling your laptop.

The most important thing that you need to consider when selling your laptop is the protection of your personal information. It is vital to your security and identity that you choose a company that will remove all information from your hard drive before refurbishing it. This is especially important if your laptop isn’t working and you can’t access the information on it yourself. Make sure that the company that you sell your laptop to will erase all the information off your laptop as soon as it is received.

The next thing you’ll want to look for is a company that will get you the best used laptop value. Some companies will give you an instant quote for your laptop. If you can get an instant quote online this is the best way to find out right away of you are getting the best value for your laptop. Check this out and find out how much you may receive for selling your laptop before you send it in. And remember – you should never have to pay to ship your laptop. Sell your used laptop to a company that will pay for shipping and ensure that you pay absolutely nothing in the process.

Once you find a good value with a good company and decide to sell your laptop, another thing to look into is when you will be paid for the laptop. You should be able to find out from the company approximately how long it will take for them to receive your laptop and send you your check. It might take a couple of weeks from the time you get your estimate, but if you know when to expect it, you shouldn’t have to worry. If you want to receive your check as soon as possible, you may even be able to get your check over-nighted for a fee.

You can use the cash to save up for a new laptop, or just make some money from a laptop that isn’t used or doesn’t work. No matter what your reasons, selling your laptop can be financially beneficial, environmentally-friendly, and a smart move for people who like to upgrade.

When programs run in Windows XP, they frequently use what are called DLLs (Dynamic-Link Libraries).

These contain shared programming instructions and other files like icons, graphics, sounds, etc. that ifferent applications use in order to run. DLLs are stored in RAM whenever the applications load them; when ou quit a program, XP is supposed to release the DLL from memory. But some DLLs can get stuck.

Here is the method to mend this up.

Step 1: You can force Windows XP to release DLLs by adding a Registry key.
Step 2: Select Start > Run >Enter regedit >Hit Ok
Step 3: This will open the Registry Editor and navigate to
My Computer -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Explorer.
Step 4: Right click on EXPLORER in the Left Pane, Select New > Key.
Step 5: Name it as AlwaysUnloadDLL and double click & set the default value to 1.
Step 6: Restart Windows to activate the change.

Its been interesting to see how MP3 players have evolved through the years. No longer are they a simple portable storage devices for music and listening to music. Companies keep coming out with new features and new capabilities for MP3. With each new phase we must re-evaluate which MP3 player will best fit our lifestyle and our intended usage.

With the many choices out there it may be difficult to decide on an MP3 player that is right for you. And, what with all the changes and phases a person could easily want to up-grade to a newer MP3 every other year. The dominating brands in MP3 players are Apple, Creative Labs, Phillips, RCA, iRiver, Samsung, Sony and Toshiba. Of all of these the Apple iPod is the most popular MP3 player.

Important Points When Making a Choice

The most important thing when choosing an MP3 player is to decide on two basic questions.

i) What will it be used for.

ii) How much storage capacity will you need

Take into account your future needs. And also, consider features you will make the most use of and where and when you will plan to use your MP3 player.

There are basically two types of MP3 : the flash memory players and the hard drive players.

Flash Memory Players

Flash memory players are ity-bity devices the size of a pack of tic-tac’s and very light weight. You could wear one hanging off a ribbon around your neck like a pendant and hardly notice it. The newer ones have an average capacity to hold 1GB to 8GB or 250 to 2000 songs. Flash memory players have no moving parts and because of this they hold up well to a lot of knocking about and abuse.

Hard Disk Players

Hard disk players are thicker, bulkier and heavier than flash memory players. Some Hard disk players weigh close to half a pound. They have a higher storage capacity than flash memory MP3’s. In many hard disk players the storage range is between 8GB and 160GB which means they can store 2000 to 40,000 songs. The hard disk in this player is not solid and has a moving part that spins fast. Unless protected from jolting movements this can easily become damaged.

Other Considerations

When you are out shopping for an MP3 player make sure that the one you decide on is easy to use. Go over it critically and test one out in a store. Flash memory MP3’s have better efficiency when it comes to energy usage and they operate on rechargeable batteries. Hard drive MP3’s run on rechargeable batteries also but the batteries quit a lot faster. Nice features to have are FM Radio, built in microphone and connection to car audio.

MP3’s can be used to ferry information between computers. With the advent of things like online courses and podcasting they provide easy and convenient listening whenever and wherever you need it.. They are great devices to be used during your morning or evening commute to work or when doing chores around the house.

MP3 players are reasonably priced enough that a person might want to consider having separate MP3’s intended for different activities. One MP3 player might be for when you are out on the go and another might be used solely at home for stationary activities.

Choosing a digital camera can be a very frustrating and time consuming experience with so many makes and models to choose from including Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Sony, Panasonic and others. Although the most significant feature when choosing a digital camera is the number of megapixels, which determines the quality of your photos, it is not the only consideration when choosing a digital camera. Items to take into consideration when choosing a camera are cost, resolution, exposure control, type of memory card and batteries.

The first thing to do is to determine how much you are willing to spend on your camera. You will more than likely find what you are looking for within almost any budget minus certain features, of course.

The hardest decision to make is that of the resolution to choose. A digital photograph is made up of thousands of pixels (little squares); the more pixels per inch, the better quality the photograph. A megapixel is the term used for a million pixels and the more megapixels an imaging sensor has, the higher the camera’s potential resolution. Your budget will be a consideration when choosing the resolution of your camera. Generally, the more you spend the higher resolution camera you can buy.

After considering cost and resolution, exposure control is the next big decision when purchasing a digital camera. Exposure values (and meter modes) may seem a little intimidating, but you can pretty much assume you’ll have the basic assortment of meter modes. Most extended zoom cameras offer full exposure controls, so you can customize settings to fit your preferences. These modes help the camera determine the correct exposure (or best compromise) for tricky compositions, such as a backlit subject.

The next item to consider is the type of media card your camera will use. Media Cards are (in most cameras) the storage or memory card that holds the images until they are loaded onto your computer. Those that use proprietary card formats are often more expensive and less available than more standard card types such as Compact Flash or SD/MMD cards. If your digital camcorder and PDA all use the Secure Digital memory card, this may be a major deciding factor when purchasing a digital camera. Why buy a digital camera with a different format when you can switch the card with electronics you already own? When considering memory cards, you should buy the largest capacity you can afford: the higher capacity cards, while expensive, are cheaper than buying two cards of the next-lower capacity.

If you are a frequent shooter and your camera takes AAA batteries, you will blow through them. Digital cameras use a lot of power, so get rechargeable batteries. Finally, you’ll definitely want to buy a battery charger and a couple of sets of batteries to go with it.

The basics of choosing a digital camera are to know your budget, know what type of pictures you want to take and how you intend to use the pictures. Consider the type of memory card your new camera will use and the type of battery. If you follow these simple rules you should have a much more pleasant buying experience.
